Dudes and Skinny Jeans (FAIL)

Skinny JeansRiley

This is a rant I constantly have:

Any male over the age of 18 should not have skinny jeans as a part of their wardrobe. I mean, are you serious? Not only do you look crazy, you look suspect. Any time a dude’s jeans are tighter than mine there is a problem. And buying them so tight you can’t pull them up to your waist so you secure them around your thighs is mind boggling. What Riley always says sums it all up…..

Maia Campbell – Another Lost

maia

I’m not sure if you’ve heard in the news about the actress Maia Campbell. Well, it’s been a well-known fact that she has the mental illness schizophrenia. Apparently she has decided to stop taking her medication and the combination of that with her alleged drug use is sending her to an early grave. I remember watching her on shows in the 90′s like South Central and In the House with LL Cool J. She was a very pretty girl that could have gone places. Her mother Bebe Moore Campbell died a couple of years ago and I don’t think Maia, understandably, has been the same since.

It bothers me how people want to help other stars, like Amy Winehouse, Britney Spears, etc. and when other celebrirties (namely black) are in the same boat everyone wants to just shake their head and say what a shame but offer no help. Instead these tasteless bastards decide to videotape her when they know there is something wrong with her. I’m truly disgusted by it. She’s been dealing with this for a while.

This subject is near and dear to my heart because I have a family member with the same affliction. I fight to try to keep her on the straight and narrow and to not give up the fight because she too wants to stop taking all of her meds. She’s already been involved in the sex side so without meds to keep her in reality I feel she will be going down this same path and it would kill me to see that happen. It is a private family struggle that has definitely taken it’s toll on my Mother whose health has steadily gotten worse since everything came to light. Instead of feeling sorry for those that are going down the wrong path and turning a blind eye, why don’t we help each other? Help pull each other up instead of looking down on them because they need assistance.   We have got to get it together and show some compassion.  Life is a journey full of struggle and tribulations but if we can ease each other’s pain in even a slight way we should do so. We are all running the same race of life….
